I am rejecting this response because:
The response from Quest Diagnostics is untrue. I have contacted them by phone and Mail at least 10 times. I have called the insurance company several times also. I have been told by both parties that this is indeed covered by insurance. I had no other insurance coverage at the time. I should not be responsible if the ** said it was covered, the insurance company said it was covered and Quest at one time told me to ignore the bill. They recently send a threatening letter which I feel is harassment.Thank you********* ***** ID ********

A bill was sent by Quest Diagnostics to a wrong address. I called to update, and they cannot update because the bill was sent to collections. When asked to update the address I was told no because they have no open cases. My email address is on file, but no communication was sent regarding this bill. Why can't I update my address to avoid bills being sent to collections.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I don’t think you understand the problem. You reply with asking to send a “paid invoice” to me. What address are you going to send to? The problem is I have no affiliation with your company and you have inaccurate information. Quest Diagnostics is refusing to update my address you have on file for my children.

Dear ****** ******
Please know that I do understand your concerns. Quest Diagnostics bills with the demographic and insurance information that is provided by the ordering physician. Should you or your children have future testing performed, please confirm that the ordering physician has the correct demographics for the patient.Quest Diagnostics is not refusing to update the address information, patients do not have files with Quest Diagnostics with patient demographics. Each invoice created for the patient is created with the information on the requisition from the ordering physician.

My spouse ****** ************** and I had an appointment at CVS on ***** ****** in brooklyn, Ny, for blood titer draws (which the website said was a service provided at this location). We drove all the way across brooklyn for this service. A bait and switch. When arrived for our appointment, the NP Monique informed us that they did *not* do blood titer draws at that location and she said we had to walk to a quest diagnostics for our blood draws, where we would be “seen immediately without appointment.” We waited 15 mins for paperwork, and when walked to quest, where there was no attendant and the check in system had no procedure for us to check in (it only accepted appointments checkins and walking). The walk in check in informed us we would have to wait up to 3 hours, and we were not seen immediately as promised. The phlebotomist at Quest, Akila (I’m not sure how she spells her name, it was pronounced ah-KEE-lah), was quite rude and interrupted me several times when I tried to explain that we were told we would be seen immediately. She said we would only be seen when everybody who has an appointment was seen first, and nevermind that we had an appointment with CVS, she is not affiliated with them. I was moreover charged more than my regular insurance copay for the blood draw ($86.97) and my spouse was charged the regular copay ($25) despite that we were supposed to get the same exact service and we are both on the same insurance account. Note that Akila listed our services as different (she charged me for additional services) and given that she was rude, it may be that she manipulated the system to charge me extra in retaliation for my complaint. I require a refund of the difference between my insurance copy ($25) and what I was charged ($86.97) = $61.97.Business Response

I had routine preventative care labs done with my provider and the labs were done through Quest (03/2024). Unfortunately, there was a billing error that occurred due to incorrect submission of billing code and I was sent the bill for $814 dollars in the mail (for the labs). Upon receipt, I called Quest and they notified me that I was responsible for this payment according to billing since it was submitted under "study review." I called my Doctor's office and they said they will correct the billing error on their end and to disregard any communication from Quest moving forward. Quest continued to send me the bill for $814 dolls monthly for 3 months. I called them again and they said they had not received any communication from the Doctor's office. When I called my Doctor's office they notified me that the billing code was already corrected and Quest was notified (they emailed me the confirmation) and asked me to ignore Quest's mails and there should not be an issue. However, the issue kept occurring - the entire year. In October, 2024 Quest threatened me to either pay the bill or I will be placed in collections. I called AGAIN and they said they have not received any communication. I called the Doctor's office and they notified me the billing code was correct and this information was provided 3 three times and Quest has my file. Again, asked me to ignore Quest's communication. In February of 2025, I received letter from collections (Quest put me Debt collection) for the $814 bill. I called Quest very frustrated and they kept saying they don't have any information and they do not have a file. I asked them to call the Doctor's office AGAIN and get the updated information. The Doctor's office called me and said they provided the code for the 4th time and wait for the updated information. I am extremely frustrated with Quest and feel extremely harassed over the year!! Terrible service and full harassment by Quest for their own mistakes and errors on their end!Business Response

On 2-24 I had a blood test with Quest. I had an appt at 7am. When my name was called I said good morning, I was told to go to a certain room to have my blood drawn. The person was in an obviously foul mood. She took it out on me. Maybe she was having a bad day prior to being at work but I told her my veins roll and disappear. She stuck me on the inside of my arm closest to my body, It is an area that does hurt. She says stick and literally stuck me. It hurt so much. They she taped it. By the time I got to work my bruise was already purple and the tape stuck to my skin. I still (a week later)have a bruise and it is very tender to the touch. Friday I called Quest and was told that M D ******** has received the results. AS of today they have not I have called. I want them to fax the results to M D ******** to the fax number on the work order. I am rejecting this response because: I do not have the *** number for the department at ********************, *************. It was on the order. It was even circled. As far as my date of birth, that is personal info that you should have on file. BBB always says not to give out personal info. If you look at the date and time, with my name you have everything needed to fax the information. Is Quest lazy?I ended up having to copy the results and have them uploaded to a website that, they have in the department , asked me to send them to. I have had thyroid cancer. I do not have a thyroid. I HAVE to take medication to live. I realize this is no big deal to you but to those people that are living without a thyroid it it a big deal to them. Having to wait 3-4 weeks to send the results is not acceptable. AGAIN,YOU HAVE THE INFORMATION, WHY WONT YOU JUST USE IT?

I went to quest diagnostics on July 3, 2024 to get a blood sample. I paid on the spot once I was there. I received a statement that an amount of $56.54 is due. I sent a check (#****) on August 17, 2024. Later on I received a total of three statements that amount was due. I called and was told they have not received the check, I paid by credit card over the phone and was told if they receive the check I will get a refund. I later found out they cashed the check on August 17, 2024. After several emails back and forth was told that a refund of $56.54 will be sent during the next 30 days. Never received the refund. I called once again on February 4, 2025 and was told they will expedite the refund and would receive it within 3 business days; yet to be received.Business Response

I've had two laboratory tests performed at Quest Labs, that has resulted in sub-par delays, one requiring alternative testing ($30 copay), to get on-time results. 2/13/25 went to Quest diagnostics at **************** for Urinalysis and culture, after running fever and achy the night before. Utilized standing order to get tested anytime I show UTI symptoms. No published results from 845am Quest Urinalysis test as of 440pm after checking numerous times. Results needed to justify antibiotic from Urologist. Worst performance ever received from a lab! I took matters into my hands and went to ******************** at 500p, explained symptoms and requested Urinalysis. Test results confirmed *** present. Prescription for 7d *****. 2/24/25 Went to doctor to find why still having same symptoms that started with ER visit. Took vitals and Urinalysis since symptoms similar to last UTI. Hospital was negative for UTI.Symptoms turned into cough with fever. Doctor could hear wheezing and sent to Quest Diagnostics lab same day for chest X-ray. No results were received 2/25/25 nor 2/26/25 and contacted doctor's office. It's early 2/27/25 and still no results posted. In my opinion, *********** needs to reevaluate the contract with Quest Diagnostics and make a change. This performance is unacceptable.Business Response

On February 2nd 2025, I went to CVS mini clinic at ***** ******** ** ******* TX 77079 for MMR titers test required for college enrollment for Radiology program. Blood was drawn by Ms. Leah K***** and the blood sample I believed was sent to the nearby (same ZIP code) Quest Diagnostics lab located at **** ***** ******* ******** ** *****. Nothing about the charges for the tests was mentioned, concurred with me ever, but I received a bill from "Quest Diagnostics" for "Laboratory Testing" one item for $66.00 on Feb 5th and another bill including "Laboratory Testing alone with another 4 items" for $676.88 on Feb 6th, total $742.88. The total charges for the titers test shocked me, I then called County Immunization Office (they don't do titers test ) asked them about the average costs for titers test and I was told the range should be between $80.00 to $120.00 in Houston TX area. I also did a lots research online for the charges for titers test and all results indicated the charges for titers test I did, range from $ 70.00 to $249.00 for the greater Houston area. Based on all the information I found, I called "Quest Diagnostics" and spoke to their supervisor/manager and asked for explanations and justification why the bills/charges for my titers test were 5 or 6 times more than the average costs from other local labs/ stores? However, the supervisor/manager did not give me any justifications but told me very firmly there would be nothing they would do.Business Response

Dear ******* *****
Thank you for contacting Quest Diagnostics regarding your February 2, 2025 date of service.
Please know that Quest Diagnostics reviews our pricing on a regular basis to ensure our pricing is fair, reasonable, and comparable to other laboratories that provide similar services.
Quest Diagnostics is sensitive to concerns about the cost of healthcare. Market research indicates our prices are comparable to other laboratories that provide similar services. There are many factors that determine the pricing our tests.
Services not covered by a contracted insurance carrier are billed at our list price, just as we bill a patient without insurance. Patients who do not pay for insurance coverage have the freedom to shop around and use any laboratory they choose.
Invoice numbers ********** & ********** are reflecting a zero-balance following your payments, please let me know if you would like a zero-balance letter for your records.
I appreciate the opportunity to respond.
Sincerely,
Stephanie

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: I made the payments for those 2 unjustified bills because "Quest Diagnostics" was rough and unreasonable responses when I talked with them, so I made the payments first based on my concerns that they might send me to the "Correction Agency" that will affect/ruin my credit in anyway. And the reasons I filled the Complaint after my payments are 1. For justice: hopefully they will stop their "Grossly Overcharge" fees and refund me the overcharged amounts. 2. To protect other clients/ customers from suffering the "Abusive" charges from the company.
Regards,
