We had windows and a door installed over a year ago. The workmanship was awful, leading to chips in our hard wood floors, screws and nails sticking out, and water damage to our floors. We reached out numerous times. The first *** said he isnt refunding our money, which wasnt what we asked. Months later, his replacement stood us up on a day we had both taken off work to be here. When I wrote a bad ****** review, he called. He explained he missed due to his daughter turning 16. No call, text, or email. We missed a days work for nothing. Then, he does finally show up. He took pictures and said we would hear from him the following Monday. Been over two months and nothing. We never asked for money back. We simply wanted this fixed. Now, we have irreparable damage to our hardwood floors. He also insisted the water damage couldnt be from the windows, yet it wasnt there until after we had them installed. All around, worst experience ever and we will be paying for these windows for a very long time. Not to mention the floors we will have to replace now. Horrible place and work.

      Complaint: 23028330

I am rejecting this response because: the windows and door were addressed but the technician said there was no proof they damaged our floors and unless we had video, they couldnt take our work for it. He even insinuated that our dogs may have done the gashes and scratches in the hardwood. We have tried, unsuccessfully, for almost two years to have this addressed and the offer was not satisfactory. Do not recommend the business at all, as the service is not good. I understand the original install crew is no longer with you all, but businesses are supposed to do the right thing, and this company has not. I shouldnt have to write bad reviews to receive a call, my husband shouldnt have to text (never answered) for an update, we have done your jobs for you. My husband already fixed some of the issues. To treat us like liars and say youll only do half the repairs is exactly what should be expected from you all, but you should do better. We have enough evidence to escalate this. If we have not heard an acceptable plan by tomorrow at end of business, we will.

Window Nation apologizes for any issues that the homeowner has experienced with their windows. The installation of these windows occurred on May 2, 2023. The first time that Window Nation was made aware of an issue was on October 14, 2024, and it did set up a service date, but this was canceled by the customer. ********************** did have a service visit on March 13, 2025, and we did send a technician out to review the customer concerns but have determined that the leak was present prior to the install of our windows. Window Nation normally installs from the outside and then secures them from the inside, which would prevent any damage to the customer flooring. ********************** is ready to assist our customer with their ********************* without damaging the hard floor. installation.

      Complaint: 23028330

I am rejecting this response because the entirety of their response is false. We wrote this review in hopes of getting someone's attention, since writing a bad review has been the only time we have been reached out to. Firstly, we met the salesman, ***, on March 6, 2023. Install was started and completed by 3 subcontractors on May 25, 2023. We contacted Window Nation March 30, 2023 to address some issues. After speaking with the install manager, ****, he was sent pictures. He stated he would contact us within the next few days, after speaking with his manger, but never did. We have screenshots of this conversation. Several months go by and we still have not heard from Window Nation. We called October, 2024, and asked for a member of management  to come out. They were sending a regular technician out so I declined, because we asked for a manager. *****, the new install manager had an appt set with us to take a look, but no call/ no showed due to his daughter turning 16. He was meant to come on that Saturday. We finally heard back from him the following Monday. He did come out the next weekend and stated he was in charge of install now, the subcontractors have since been fired, and so had ****. ***** stated he would call us back on Monday and did not. We reached out 7 days later with no response from *****. We have pictures and screenshots of all of these claims.  A leak was never an issue until we had our windows installed by Window Nation. We sent a video two days after ***** and ***** came, March 15, of water pouring into our home from the window, as well as black mold present, but were once again brushed off as making this up. We also have pictures of the window boxes, tools, etc, with nothing covering our floors INSIDE our home. Yet, we are told that their way of doing things is not that way. We have told them repeatedly that the windows were installed from the inside and told that isn't their standard. We have sought legal advice at this point and our legal team will be in contact with this company. We just do not wish anyone else to go through what we have endured the past year and a half. We have attempted to do this civilly, but will not be called liars or made to feel dumb in our own home, which is currently uninhabitable due to several large specimens of mold.

      Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because it should not be our responsibility to keep reaching out. I have screenshots of every conversation. We have hired an attorney at this point. You can disagree but you are all in the wrong.  You just stated you had not spoken with us at all until October, but now you are retracting that. We reached back out when our walls and floors started showing damage. Water damage, inside the wall, takes a bit of time to show externally. Please refrain from messages that insult my intelligence.

Custom madeWindows installed June, 2024. Screens that were made for the windows did not come out of the slots easily to clean windows and one had a slit in screen day of installation. New screens were ordered, Windows *** came out to install new screens to find out the screens don't fill window opening correctly there is a gap, screens are bowed. Was told new screens would be ordered and try and get them corrected. Fast forward to end of Feb 2025 still do not have all corrected screens. I sent an email to window nation stating I've been patient long enough, i would like some type of refund and a district manager to call me. Get a phone call was left a message from service tech, that the screens that are bowed and not corrected is my (the customers) fault and that ********************** will not be helping me any longer on the screens. I called back to have to leave a message again. How is it the customers fault, when the screens were never correct from the day of installation? This is outrageous

We purchased a home in September 2024 that had window nation's lifetime warranty windows. Shortly after closing on the home, we contacted window nation because one of the windows had a crack in it and needed the glass replaced. In October 2024 I paid the warranty transfer fee and scheduled a service call for the window replacement. Shortly thereafter, we noticed none of the windows would open or close fully. On December 3, 2024 a service tech arrived to replace the glass and evaluate the windows. The service tech stated that the windows wouldn't open or close fully because they were left open for so long by the previous homeowner, and a specific part of the windows had to be replaced that had been bent. He stated another service call had to be done and would be a full day to get the windows fixed. Shortly after that service appointment, and before they were able to come out to finish repairing the windows, I got a call on December 23, 2024 stating that "their original measuring photos shows that there was support in the sun room under the windows, but that the support was removed and that voids the warranty". I then requested photos for proof, and I was sent the attached CToslandMeasurephoto 1 and 2 on February 7, 2025. Fortunately for us, this photo shows that the support underneath the windows remains unchanged since they were installed. There has been ZERO change to the structure and support of the windows. I have attached the listing photos which proves that the support being referenced are the beams which hold up the addition entirely. No changes have been made to the support to the structure. Window nation needs to own up to their warranty and fix or replace these windows per our lifetime warranty. Images 1, 2 and 3 attached show the homes listing photos which prove no changes were made.

Window Nation appreciates our customer's complaint, which has been sent to our local market to be made aware of our customer's frustrations and their desired resolution. Window Nation would respectfully disagree with some of our customer's assertions. The original homeowner's purchase was on April 17, 2017, and the new windows were installed on May 17, 2017. Window Nation did take photographs of where the new window would be installed and has provided a copy of this information showing that there are 24 supporting the weight of the new windows. Window Nation did receive a picture from the new homeowner of additional work done in the area of our original installation, and the 2x4s were no longer flush to the window casements, which caused the weight of the windows to bow and not align properly to operate. Window Nation believes this to be no fault of our own, as this work was done after the installation of our windows. Window Nation's team will continue to work with our customer in an attempt to resolve this matter.

      Complaint: 22982651

I am rejecting this response because:

As clearly shown in the photos, there were NO 2x4s ever present beneath the windows. You can clearly compare the original photos from 2017 to the listing photos that this is the case. The original existing beams that supported the structure are still there. There were NEVER 2x4's there previously. The 2x4s that we installed in November 2024 are not structural whatsoever, they do not go up to it because that is not the intention. The sole purpose of installing our new 2x4's was to hang drywall to finish that room. Nothing structurally was changed from the original installation in 2017 and I have already informed all persons I spoke to at Window Nation that the old homeowner is my neighbor and WILL sign an affidavit confirming that no work was done to that room since the windows were installed in 2017, and before that nothing was changed since it was built in the 1970s. This is Window Nation trying to get out of fixing their shoddy windows that have pieces of plastic hanging off the exterior windows because they never finished the repairs in December 2024. I have already filed a complaint with the *********************, filed reviews on Yelp, this BBB complaint, my next course of action will be the news and a lawsuit for violating my lifetime warranty. I don't know how many times I have to say that NOTHING was done to the structural integrity of this room since it was built, this is simply a way to try to get out of honoring my warranty. These windows need replaced at Window Nation's expense.

      Sincerely,

      Complaint: 22982651

I am rejecting this response because: A manager at window nation did come out on March 10, 2025 and he immediately said he could tell the structure was not affected whatsoever by the work that is being completed. He took photos and he stated you can clearly tell that the 2x4s that we added were not attached to the window sill or any part of the structure. He did not state specifically that new windows will be covered by Window Nation, but rather someone would be in touch ASAP as they take the Ohio Attorney General complains very seriously. He stated only 1 window out of all our windows wasn't faulty and in need of replacement. He said we would receive a call/response from someone higher up on March 11, 2025. It is now March 13, 2025 and we haven't received any further information yet. I don't appreciate the comment about giving me a quote to replace the windows. The windows are very clearly defective and need replaced per our warranty.

Window Nation apologizes for any issues that the new homeowner has experienced with their windows. This contract was originally signed on April 10, 2017, and the new windows were installed on May 17, 2017. The new homeowner initiated the warranty transfer on October 18, 2024, and reported a damaged window. A service was created to address the issue, and this was the first service requested at this address. Window Nation does a pocket installation, which is installing the new window into the existing frame, and we would not have discovered any structural issues based on this. Window Nation did have a site visit with the new homeowner, and we have determined this is not a warranty issue. The customer admitted that the previous homeowner had left these windows open for years, and the lack of support has caused the warping, bowing, and sagging. In the attached pictures you can see the amount of animal seeds and debris from years of these windows being open and exposed to the elements that have damaged the tracks, which are now not allowing the windows to open and close properly. Window Nation has attached our warranty along with the manufacturer's warranty, which states that we are not responsible for any structural changes or improper handling or storage, misuse, abuse, vandalism, neglect, lack of or improper maintenance, or natural aging of parts due to friction or the elements. Window Nation has offered to provide the new homeowner with a quote to replace the damaged windows.

      Complaint: 22982651

I am rejecting this response because:

There are a few major issues with your statements, particularly the following:

"The customer admitted that the previous homeowner had left these windows open for years, and the lack of support has caused the warping, bowing, and sagging". This statement is utterly false. The first service repair man that came to inspect the windows and repair them from Window Nation is the one who told me that most likely the previous homeowner probably the windows open too long and that caused the bowing. I do not know the previous homeowner, nor do I know how long they kept the windows open, that was a statement by your ******** that I repeated. If that had been a warranty dealbreaker, then why did he inspect the windows and determine that they needed to be fixed and schedule another service call for December in the first place? That same first ******** that fixed the broken glass window also stated that our window color has been discontinued and if they needed further repair, they would need replaced by Window Nation.

Second major issue: your photos were taken after 4+ months of construction has been happening in that room. There is sawdust and other materials due to the construction. If you had taken photos of the windowsills in October, you would see that they were clean at that time before any construction began in that room. We have listing photos that show a clean room with no debris and nothing inside of the windows. Your photos prove nothing except that the room is under construction and that nothing was touched structurally by us.

Most importantly, it seems that the claims process and warranty pre-requisite are deceptive and in violation of the Ohio Consumer Sales Practice Act (OCSPA). The ***** provides for treble economic damages, up to $5,000 in non-economic damages, and attorney's fees in the event that home remodeling work under $25,000 violates standards previously published by the *********************. These previously published standards include refusals to remedy known substandard work and failures to honor warranties. The substandard window quality seems to be the issue here and your refusal to honor the warranty will be cause for a costly lawsuit.

The only acceptable response in this case is for Window Nation to honor my warranty and replace my faulty windows that will not close or lock due to their subpar quality.

      Sincerely,

On October *******, a salesman, ***** ******** representing Window Nation came to my home to discuss me purchasing windows. When we discussed pricing I advised they were more than I wanted to pay. He said he was going to his truck to call his supervisor. When he came back in he gave me a price and a monthly payment I was willing to pay. He also said there would be no interest charges. About a week and a half later I received a letter from a finance company stating I was approved for financing. I called Window Nation several times and asked for a supervisor. I was never able to speak with a supervisor but ***** called several times. He denied the conversation we had but I would never have agreed to the windows otherwise. On 10/12/2024 we signed a contract with Window Nation to replace several windows in our home after a high pressure sales tactic hour from the salesman. He said we had 5 days to cancel after that without any penalty. We wrote a deposit check for over $5000. He said he would email us the contract but he did not. A few days later on 10/17/2024 I emailed and called customer service to cancel the contract and they cancelled without any issues. A sales manager called me later that day to try to offer me another deal to keep our business but we declined. On the phone I mentioned that we never actually received the contract so he emailed it to me right then. At this time, my deposit check had not yet been cashed so I assumed that they weren't going to since the order was cancelled. The next day on 10/18/2024, a day after I cancelled and got confirmation that I cancelled, they cashed the deposit check. Since then, I have called customer service at least three times trying to get my deposit back but our money has not been returned and each customer service agent just says to call back again later to check on the status. The first ****** I talked to shortly after cancelling had claimed that the money would be returned within 10 business days but now it is almost a month later on 11/16/2024 and we have not received our money back.

The date of transaction was sept. 11th. Communication lacked and involved me haggling the company and various ************* to get the job done to get no answer half of the time. Was promised new construction at the beginning for 3 out of 9 of my windows and paid for that from sales *** and sales manager. Change order was in place after that for what I assumed was for the trim that I wanted and it also ended up being for changing the new construction back to just ***lacing the awning windows I have to new awning windows, that was NEVER discussed verbally. I didnt catch it until the workers finally came to doing the job and I half half the managers telling me they just do ***lacement windows and was promised by sales *** and manager that they do. Its been very confusing, I shouldve looked at the change order better I admit but Ive been so desperate and stressed trying to get information out of these people and trying to get the job done before winter I just signed it. Again nothing was said ever to me about them not being able to do new construction and have all the e-mails and texts from everyone to prove it. You could probably call them for phone recordings of our conversations when I called expressing concern. The chain manager was very un professional telling me to ask the sales *** and manager why they are promising new construction for windows when they dont, shouldnt he be more concerned and have that answer? I have notice a bunch of imperfections with the job, just feeling frustrated and hopeless. I just wanted this to go smooth and easy but its been the opposite. They have offered only a $800 rebate check which I guess may be something, but they promised me new construction and thats what I was under the assumption of getting until the day of and why I went with them. I didnt want just ***lacement windows I would have taken my business elsewhere if they were more clear. Again I have text messages and e-mails, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I need a receipt. For taxes and documentation for when/if I sell my home. Ive been getting ignored my ***** and a guy named ***** asked if I have the contract. I think I have the old one not an updated one with the new price adjusted on it. Another man, ***** **** sent me an e-mail with some information on it; I dont want that. For starters the sold price and paid price dont align. I want a written document showing everything with the adjusted price on it saying paid. Or, I have the old contract showing $7300 was paid but not one for the $4066 being paid. These guys want to sit there and ignore me and possibly banter rather than just get me what I need and get me out of their hair already.

      Sincerely,

      ****** Floss

I tried using my warranty for a window with a failed seal. This is not the 1st issue that we have ad with NW. When we first called 2 different people said they couldn't find a purchase by me and asked are you sure you purchased from NW?? Really, asked for a manager they pulled it right up. Then had to go back and forth regarding which window and that I had to provide the serial #, Don't you keep records of what you sell and install? Finally, Service Tech came out around the end of Oct. Said yes, the seal failed and found the number on the poor degraded label. Explained that we were about to sell our home. Said no problem normally takes about 3 weeks to come in and 10 minutes to install but would try and put a rush on and let them know we are looking to sell home. Around 3 week we called and was told it was in and could be installed on 11/20 now today get an email say that there was some misinformation that now the window wouldn't be in until 12/23. Now I have told the realtor the window is to be in on 11/20 as we were told, and we now have a contract on our home. Hopefully this doesn't affect anything with the sale of our home. I feel ** needs to make this right as the need to stand behind what their employees tell their customers and make this right and get the ******************** installed. One employee said 3 weeks from the date he was in my home and when calling another employee said it was in and even gave a date for installing the window. How can so many employees be poorly trained? Window Nation make this right and have the window installed as your employee it was in and even gave us an installed. Maybe the training of the employees needs to be looked into as this is not the correct way to treat customers who have spent their hard-earned money and not get the service that they paid for.

I had window Nation come out and install my windows. I was able to observe the outside at night with a flashlight and they look pretty decent. I had the tenant downstairs which was putting her kids to sleep so I wasn't able to look at the windows till the morning when I finally saw the work completed. It was absolutely terrible like 3/4 of an inch of caulk around my windows. They use different types of wood to finish the project and it looks absolutely unprofessional. I'm paying $ ****** for garbage.

I had received a notification from ************** that I was charged $17,359.00 plus an additional $70.00 over the original price. I only signed and approved a payment to be taken out of $16,359.00 because one window had not yet been installed due to incorrect measurements. My windows are still not complete as the company has to reinstall most of them and install the mismeasured window. The payment should not have been withdrawn if the job had not been completed and now will be accumulating interest. Please advise as needed.

Window Nation appreciates our customer complaint but would like to point out that this was funded based on the fact that the customer ********************* were installed as per contract, which states, "Upon notice of the Substantial Completion of the work." We have attached the work order; please see section 9, subsection 17. The $70.00 is the bank's activation fee for the loan. Window Nation, as the customer has pointed out, will be reordering one missing window and will be providing our customer new sashes. We have already ordered the service parts needed to complete the job and should receive them shortly. Once received, Window Nation will schedule an appointment with the customer during a time that is convenient for them to complete their project. We greatly appreciate our customer's patience.

Window Nation started installation of a custom ordered entry door 10/30/24 but the installer did not complete the job. He did not install the framing or a doorknob (reason unknown). I've been getting the runaround from Window Nation with me having to call them for resolution. Since the installation was not completed I was able to get a good look at the door they brought to my home and see that it does not fit the entry opening properly. There is wood, Styrofoam and spray foam filling 4.5 inch gaps on both sides of the door (and the top). This door was measured to fit but is not the proper size and I am completely unsatisfied with the service and the fit of my custom door. I want the job completed and the door replaced.

Window Nation appreciates our customer's complaint, which has been sent to our local market in order to be made aware of our customer's frustrations and their desired resolution. Window Nation would respectfully disagree with some of our customer's assertions, however, as the service matters would fall under our normal service & warranty specifications and require payment prior to activating a warranty. Window Nation's team will continue to work with our customer in an attempt to resolve this matter, but at this time we are unable to service the customer's concerns without payment. We appreciate our customer's understanding.

I am rejecting this response because: I expressed dissatisfaction with the door immediately. I took photos and sent them to my salesman and my concerns were never addressed. I don't feel that me having to pay for an item that I rejected upon receipt is fair. The contractor threw away my preexisting door lock that was used for my home security system. The company said they would reimburse me for it but never did. The problem with the door should be addressed before payment because I never was satisfied. The door would have been rejected had i seen it before installation. It's unreasonable for the customer to pay for a defective product BEFORE the company gives you what you agreed to purchase which is a door in new condition. I will pay for the windows in full since I have no issues with them. Separate the window bill from the door bill so that portion of the bill can be satisfied. Once I receive what i paid for I will pay in full. No one even came out to look at the door to see what was wrong in person. I have not been taken seriously by this company. Such a disappointment. Not expected from such a large company.

      Sincerely,

      Better Business Bureau:

I am not opposed to mediation but I will not pay a fee to do so. A door that was not in a new or unflawed state (defective door) was installed in my home. I rejected the door because of the defects observed. Window Nation has ignored my complaints and instead have threatened to send the bill to collections and file a lawsuit. Trying to force me to pay for a defective door is unacceptable. I am more than willing to pay for a replacement door in new condition that I agreed to purchase. I have also sent messages informing them if they separate the bill for the windows from the bill for the door, I will pay for the windows in full because I have no issues with them. They have not had any discussions with me or sent anyone to my home to address my issues or physically see what is wrong with the door. They want me to pay for a defective door and then put in a warranty claim which i am not willing to do. I am owed a door in new condition free of defects.

I would like to reject the offer of Mediation for complaint ID ********.

      Regards,

We had Window Nations come out a replace two windows in our primary bedroom. We had ****, the salesman give us the usual sales pitch. Youll be 100% satisfied with our products, theyre the best in the business, they have gas and silver to help your home be more energy efficient etc, contact us if youre not 100% satisfied and we will do right by you. ***. What they failed to disclose in person and in the contract was the hue of the window and the color it would give off in natural light during the day. After the installation, I noticed my bedroom had a green tint and hue. Mind you, we have a bathroom in our primary bedroom and our bathroom also has windows allowing for natural light to come in. However, the color the windows give off are completely different. The bathroom windows with the original windows have neutral and pleasant lighting coming through. But the Window Nation windows give off a green hue! I have also taken a picture to show just how different it he hue is in our bedroom. You can spot the difference right away, Its green and cold. Mind you, the color of the bathroom and bedroom are the same color, Aesthetic White. My primary complaint with Window Nation is that they failed as to disclose the hue their windows would give off. If I would have known my bedroom would have a green tint, I would have NEVER went with them. It was never in the contract, it was never disclosed in person. My bedroom was my safe haven, the place in my home where I could go rest and recluse. Now I cant bare to be in there during the day because of the green tint. I have never been so disappointed in the company. I have called customer service and they said they cant do anything since theyre already installed. I have left reviews I have done it all! The owner responded to my yelp review, but never responded to my email. I want our money back, a partial refund or a replacement without the green tint. This is not what we were promised. I never signed up for green windows.
