I'm a US citizen living overseas as a dependent of a USAFE employee. My father was stationed in the United Kingdom in 1979 so I've been here ever since. Because of my fathers military background and experience I spent my career in the software industry and took a contract with a US software vendor called Fornetix. I worked for them for 6 months and invoiced them for my agreed fees. I've hit a stone wall. The invoice was 1 year over due on December 28, 2022 despite my efforts to contact them. I delivered on my commitments up until my father was admitted to intensive care with a diagnosis of sepsis. This was during the coronavirus lockdown and was Avery difficult time for our family. I communicated with my line manager and was told to take as much time as I needed. Several weeks later I logged into my email to find my contract was terminated which I have no issue with. I removed the fees for the month my father was in hospital and only invoiced for the months I completed. I had an email from their legal counsel in September 2022 apologising for the delay on this and I replied but he has since disappeared. The vice president I reported to approved the invoice but I cannot get any to reply to my communications including the CEO. I was advised to try this service before going legal. I hope and pray you can help me. The invoice is approximately 90,000 USD and this is the first time in my career I have had problems getting paid.
