On 6-17-23 i went to Bills pay lake to fish in the shootout (tournament). I paid $22 for the 12 hour ticket to fish and an additional $20 for the shootout. The biggest fish caught subs the jackpot. I caught the 26.6lb fish in the picture and they have the win and $140 prize money to a guy with a 22.4lb fish. They said i was disqualified because ireeled the fish completely in our of the water 2ft up on the bank and my disabled mother couldn't get the fish in the net so in order not to cause injury to the fish i handed her my fishing pole so i could get the fish in the net. She only held the tip of the pole and did not reel it or use it in antsy m anyway but because she simply touched it i was disqualified. The catch is the guy who won had his buddy get one of his poles because he had a fish on 2 poles at one time but he wasn't disqualified. I had a couple purple tell me afterwards that the winner and the guy running the shootout are long time friends and that the situation i experienced is a common occurrence. I would like to receive the $22 and$20 i paid to fish in the shootout returned. I will be filing in small claims for the $140 prize money.
