Before Thanksgiving, I had took my vehicle to get an oil change at this location stated. It was before the Thanksgiving weekend on 20241127 I had gotten my oil changed before taking the trip back to Kentucky. My vehicle was perfectly fine beforehand getting an oil change and even went to and back fine from Kentucky. The oil change wasn’t the price they said it would be being way more expensive than talked about as well it took more than 2 hours to complete and it doesn’t take that long to do an oil change. The following weeks go by and my transmission begins to slip and vehicle stopping and then starting to drive again until it finally stopped on 20241216 before the holidays began. I had it towed to this location and with me explaining to them that my transmission wasn’t working allowing me to move in reverse and or drive, they told me that they needed to know what it was and exactly as I told them they found to know that my transmission went out and I explained to them that it was perfectly fine before my oil was changed at this location and they even had attempted to say that my vehicle had problems before hand. When I know my vehicle did not cause if it did with the transmission it would’ve went out way before. I was told a transmission would be between the price ranges of $7,000 to $10,000 and even with not agreeing to take a loan or being approved for a company card, one of the employees recommended I take a *** loan from the military and I declined and since after that conversation it was rudeness and no attempt in being able to get anything done other than hounding me. My vehicle was put in a grass lot faced forward of a fence knowing the transmission didn’t work and even had a auto warranty policy setup to get an overall estimate of the transmission and it would have been $18,000. So for low blowing and even the run around I was going to have to pay way more than bargained for and still have not got an ultimate answer on if it was their fault it messed up.Business Response

*** **** and I discussed his transmission problems thoroughly. After this conversation, we collectively decided that his transmission failed due to age and the manufacturer. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any relief for *** **** in this situation due to the nature of his problem. He said he understood, and we wished each other well in the end.Initial Complaint

Took vehicle in for issue associated with rubbing noise when driving, paid for services and had to take it back 5 times consecutive and issue was never resolved. Paid $1000 in services, took vehicle across street and was told to do alignment and balance, this helped for 2 months and issue came back. Contacted corporate, have been assisted over the phone back and forth for last 2 months without resolution. Have made 3 total claims with corporate and no resolution as of yet.Business Response

I went to Midas 3 times in 5 months they charged me for noise reduction test. They couldn't find anything wrong . But finally 2 months ago they said that I should repair my lower control arm to fix the noise coming from my car. As soon as I drove off I continued to hear noise coming from car I spent *** dollars for a incomplete fix and false repair I didn't needBusiness Response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/12/04) */ Contact Name and Title: Adam ******* SDM Contact Phone: ********** Contact Email: ************************** Mr. ******* and I have spoken about the repairs done to his vehicle. On Aug. 29th, 2022 we performed a steering/suspension inspection on his vehicle. During that inspection we found that both front lower control arms and the rear shocks needed to be replaced. On Oct. 6th, 2022 Mr. ******* came back to Midas and asked us to replace one control arm to meet his budget constraints. The front left control arm was very loose and unsafe. It was much worse safety wise than the passenger side. We explained to him that noise or not, the driver side had to be replaced first to make sure the vehicle was safe to operate on the road. He agreed to the plan and we performed the repair. He brought the vehicle back in a couple of weeks later and told us about his noise concern again. We looked at the vehicle again and did a deeper inspection on the entire vehicle. He still needed the front right control arm and the rear shocks. We also found that he needed three engine mounts as well. He did not have any additional work done on that visit. The last time I spoke with Mr. ******* I told him to come and see me while I was at the shop and I would see if there was anything special I could do to help him with additional repairs. He did not show up on the agreed upon day and I have not heard from him since. Unfortunately, we cannot refund money for a much needed repair that was performed properly. The vehicle needs more work and we are willing to work with him to help make that happen. Thank you! Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/12/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) They did not fix my car they intentionally tried to defraud me to receive a payment by not fixing the actual problem . They have basically are trying to not do their job by making me pay prices for a job undone I'm outraged. I did not need the lower control arm done if it wasn't going to fix the noise problem Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/12/05) */ We have no change to our original statement. All work performed was explained, authorized, and completed correctly. Our diagnosis and estimates prove that the customer was notified of everything in advance of repairing the vehicle.
