I have attached a "Summary of events" in the attachments.Essential Midas - Muncie changed my oil on 13 December 2024 and didn't tighten the drain plug properly for oil pan and when it finally vibrated loose, the oil quickly drained out while driving and the engine seized up.Midas is denying any responsibility and saying I have no proof. The proof is the fact that there was no drain plug when we were finally able to look at it. We tried putting a new drain plug in it and adding oil and it would not start and was making some funny noises.Midas did look at it and confirm the engine was done for, but refused to take any responsibility. We have only had the van for 6 months and had no previous problems until they changed the oil. Three *** certified mechanics have told me and are willing to go on record confirming that they have seen this happen and that this is the most likely cause since that would be about the amount of time required for the drain plug to vibrate loose. See attachments for more details.

Midas has had my vehicle for nearly two months now, since June 5th, 2024. I brought it in for an oil change and an issue with my engine overheating. They told me that my thermostat gasket needed replaced, which was $700. They fixed it, and two days later, I was back with my engine still overheating. I was told that the part they replaced was faulty. After 4 hours of waiting for it to be fixed, I was sent on my way. Came back 20 minutes later with my engine STILL overheating and losing power because the mechanic did not attach a hose to my engine tight enough. I was told my car was good to go, but the coolant reservoir had oxygen in it I needed to let out. I was told it was okay to drive as long as I did that. Still had issues with it, so I took it back for them to further diagnose. It took them another 3 days, no word from them. I went back. The mechanic who fixed the thermostat gasket proceeded to tell me that my head gasket was warped and that he never even looked at it to begin with. I asked him was this an issue prior to me bringing it in before or was this caused because I was told I could drive my car after you supposedly fixed it? To which he replied I cant say for sure. Fast forward to now, nearly two months later. The owner, ********, has given me the run-around after promising to fix the gasket, free of charge, because he took responsibility. However, I can never seem to get ahold of him and he is never in. Do not take your vehicles to Midas.
