On 4/20/2024 I took a push mower to ********** Hardware Georgetown for diagnostic for repair for self propelled drive going out. ********** advertise on their website $50 deposit for diagnostic. I was informed the diagnostic charge was now $75 and that amount would be applied toward total bill if I chose to have repairs made. I also had them put on the order that I did not want to exceed $100 for any repair since this was an older mower. ********** advised that I would receive a call to advise me on cost for repairs. On 5/8/2024 I received a message on my phone stating the mower was done. I never received a call to advise me on costs for repairs. When I picked the mower up I found out that they were charging me for two special order front drive wheels and a blade sharpening for a total of $92. I asked if my $75 deposit was going to be subtracted from this amount, and they stated no that was the labor charge. I asked the assistant manager why I did not receive a call, and he stated repairs are not done at their store. I asked where are the old wheels from the mower and they said they did not have. So I spent $167 dollars for two wheels and a blade sharpen that I did not authorize, and the self propelled drive on the mower is still messed up. I was taken. I made another attempt to speak to the manager at the Georgetown store and was told too bad. I advised him I was filling a BBB complaint and he told me to go ahead.

I rented a Penske truck from Connolly's Do It Best on 1/26/2024 and paid $21.00 for three days of insurance on it. I was then told there was a $100.00 hold until the truck was returned. I returned the truck on 1/29/2024, a day early. I waited a week for my deposit to be returned to my account and called Penske customer service when it didn't return to my account. The Penske representative told me there are no holds and that the $100.00 was part of the insurance fee. The insurance was $7.00 a day, for three days. I explained that to the customer representative and he promptly hung up on me. I was intentionally lied to about pricing and was told the $100.00 deposit would be returned so long as the truck was undamaged. I want my money back, that is all. Please assist me with this predatory theft issue.
