My dw sk800 2020 with 350 hrs ( almost new)was shutting off,I took it to ditch witch mid west in ************ first they told me it was an electrical component that wasn't working and they gave me an estimate of 6 to 700 dollars I told them that it was ok go ahead and repair. Then he calls me back and he says that there is another problem that there is mud or sand in the fuel tank!I automatically thought that that was impossible.im the only person with the key to access fuel tank,I right away didn't believe it however me giving them the benefit of the doubt gave them another ok to clean up.FINALLY THEY CALLED ME BACK AND HIT ME WITH A $ ****. ****!!!! I told them that that was outrageously high for a new machine. PARTS WERE 400 DOLLARS AND LABOR WAS 1700?doesn't make sense Upon picking up machine I checked their work order and to my suprize ,Nothing was done as claimed They claimed to have removed fuel tank and clean up power wash it completely, change fuel pump, and change some filters.Fuel filters were old and not new they're were dirty like the ones that were originally there, the fuel tank was as disgusting as it ever was with diesel all over it and not one finger print on the tank.I called them back and explained and asked for a reason to which they didn't know how to answer.I told them to send me pictures of the fuel tank off and the old parts and to this day no one has responded. This is not a franchise and one owner foe this business so your complaints go nowhere with this business

The customer brought his unit in complaining that it would not stay running. Originally it was thought to be an electrical issue, based on what the customer described to us. While trying to fix the unit himself he dropped and lost what he said, was a fuse. It was really a diode. The diode was replaced and the unit would still not run correctly. This led us to check out the fuel system. Upon inspecting the fuel tank, it was found to be contaminated with sand and algae. We called the customer to inform him of what we found and told him that we would have to washout the inside of the tank. We took pictures to show the customer what we found in the tank and he said, that he didnt need to see them. The tank was hard to remove due to a big dent on the side of the unit making it difficult to remove the tank. Once the tank was removed it was cleaned and reinstalled. The cleaning process takes several steps to insurer that it is clear of any contaminates. The tank took longer to reinstall due to the dent. The old fuel filter needed to be replaced which was done. We also noticed that the unit was over filled with Hydraulic fluid. Customer gave us permission to replace the hydraulic filter, which was done. We started the unit and it still would not stay running. Found that the contaminates in the tank wrecked the fuel pump. This was causing the unit to be starved of fuel. We replaced the fuel pump tested unit and it runs fine. We called the customer to let him know That the unit was ready for pick up. He asked about the **** and he was told the price. He stated that it was higher than he thought it would be. He was offered twice to talk to our service manager and both time he turned it down stating he didnt have time and to just **** my card. Once the customer received a hard copy of the invoice, he reached out to our service manager to talk about the ****. They played phone tag back and forth. Once they connected the customer expressed his concern over the labor to parts difference. In this case to fix the unit it wasnt about broken parts but about contamination in the fuel system. To clean the fuel system is very labor intensive. The unit came in with multiple issues and was not running and left fixed and running.
