I purchased a used laptop from Amazon. It seemed a little wonky( black screens would pop up and disappear), but I ignored that because I was mainly using it to store music files. I had trouble connecting to a canon printer. So I called a number that I believe was from the owners manual. I believe that's how I became connected to geeks core. They did resolve my printer issue. And then he pitched me a security package that would protect my network for as long as I had that IP address, and I paid 5 or 6 hundred dollars (I cant remember). They tried to contact me several months later, left a message, but I never got back to them (I work a lot). Now about a year later, they contacted me again. And asked if I had updated their software. I said no. I let them gain control of my computer. He showed me some columns and told me that my drivers weren't working. He apologized for their service not meeting my needs and wanted to give me a refund of $349.99. I gave him some of my personal information, but stopped short of connecting with my bank account, while he was still in control of my computer. So I guess I won't be using that computer anymore. But I believe they have a lot of my personal information and my IP address . A very ethnic sounding man said his name was *************************** ************. The other # I have is ************. I believe I bought a computer with malware on it and that this was some sort of "long con"

I am rejecting this response because: It's an obvious Lie. Why would it cost $599 for support of a canon printer. Don't they even know what they charged me for ? My gut tells me that fraud and thievery is part of their business model. I'll cut my losses at $599. I really just wanted to shed some light on this band of pirates.

    Sincerely,

    ***********************
