Ugh....horrible company to deal with. Products, like the tabletop monitor are not upgraded, techs that arrive at the home are disgusting and not very knowledgeable. And don't even think about canceling a contract, even after the required 36 months. They lock you into another 12 months before they allow any kind of customer service to happen. In addition, they have a way of manipulating your home monitor so it shows an error, making you think you need a service tech. I know because mine was "miraculously" fixed when I told them I was sick of their crap, after I had to pay a tech $90 to replace what was only a battery.Review fromBrad P

1 starI purchased a business and was changing security companies to EMC Security. I use them in all my businesses. When *** came out to inspect the hardware that was in the shop that ADT had installed to verify it was going to be compatible to switch ADT locked down my system so EMC could not access from the wall panel. I called ADT letting them know again I was switching services and they said they did not do anything to my service. But they did... They even locked me out of the keypad. My shop was unsecure for a week with no security because they would not open the keypad backup. Then they billed me for 2 additional months even though I was not in a contract. I told them what happened and they did not care. I told them I was not paying for service that I did not have. They said they understood and would put notes in on my account. Now they have turned my company into collections. I paid the bill so my business credit does not get ruined but beware. They do not care about you at all. They are ******!!.Review fromMegan G

1 starAs a new home owner~ I feel like we got ******* into purchasing adt to protect our home. The cameras hardly ever pick up movement and when they do by the time someone is at our door the recording has ended...and we have no idea why someone was on our porch. When I try to check the live footage it doent load and constantly times out. The monthly payment is crazy compared to other services. Our cameras stopped working and they want us to pay a $60+any additional needed fees once on-site just go get them online again? That is ridiculous. We are going to try to pay our contract off early so we can get rid of this stress and quit throwing our money away to adt. 0/10 recommendation. A door salesman came to our house after being in a new home for under a month and said all of the right things to a young girl to make her feel like she needed to be protected with adt. What a joke. Do better ADT. Lessoned learned..don't be like us..don't get trapped in an ADT contract.Review fromAudrey F

1 starWe have ADT for our home security system and have been a customer for 22 years. Every time we have any issues or problem and call the customer service we have to stay on line for over 20 minutes, then have to wait longer to get transferred to the right department. The wait time to schedule with a technician to come to the site to fix an issue is over a week. They dont have enough technicians available and we had to be without security system in our house for a few days. They cancelled our appointment twice in a row and scheduled for later day. Their prices keep rising each year. Overall we are not too happy with their services! They dont give us peace of mind due to their lack of good customer service!Review fromShawn Y

1 starThey promised me I could cancel within 6 months without a cancellation fee for a unique situation I had after being a loyal customer for 4 years. They did not honor this when I called to cancel, and they kept sending me to different people when I called to address this. Never resolved. 1 starBought a house that had the service already so I kept it for a couple years, but then I got some cameras that dont need subscriptions and I never really use the monitoring so I called to cancel the ADT service altogether. When trying to cancel they kept lowering the price to keep me as a customer. I ultimately agreed to keep some service for $9.99 per month that would only allow me to remotely access the one camera I had of theirs. 12 months later I received a bill for $55. I called immediately, they said the price I was given was a promotional price that was only good for a year. I told them I was not told it was a promotion or temporary pricing and wanted to cancel the service altogether. They told me I still owed the $55 because cancellations take 30 days and I shouldve called 30 days before the price increase. I told them I was not anticipating a price increase because no one told me it was a temporary promotional price, so why would I have called to cancel 30 days earlier. I was transferred to several different departments and spent nearly 2 hours on the phone, only for supervisors and account managers I talk to to tell me they understand why Im upset, but that there is nothing they can do. So I was never told there was going to be a price increase, and they charged me for service I never even received because they charge for the month ahead. They can delete the invoice, but they choose to delay and wear you down until you just pay it.Review fromJoan B

1 starHave been with ADT for 9+ years and in March tried to update cameras that was not compatible with our current Internet and ADT did not have cameras that was compatible with Starlink. Went through about 10 different people to cancel services and as of today still being billed. Called only to find out the money that I have paid was canceling of cameras only and not burglary system. What part of no longer want ADT services did they not understand? This has been a nightmare to try and get out of the contract with them. I am about $3000 out and still have to wait for it to be canceled. At this point I feel a class action lawsuit should be an option. If do NOT recommend ADT to anyone! Very poor customer service and was told managers dont take phone calls.. wow.. that really Said it all.Review fromJulie C

I have been a customer of ADT for 15 years. I decided I didn't want the service anymore for my cameras and alarm system. I canceled in January 2025 and was told it was canceled. Then I receive a bill in Feb.11, 2025. I had to call AGAIN to cancel. The representative (***) was VERY rude to me and said I will NOT receive a refund (I asked to speak with a manager and she said SHE was the only person in charge....In charge of ALL ADT, impressive lol). I hung up and called again, spoke with someone else and surprise I received my refund. However, I now received a bill for March and April for the cameras!!!!!! OMG I canceled in January!!!!!! I had to call ADT again to cancel and said I refuse to pay, I CANCELED ON FEBRUARY 11TH!!!!!! I had to speak with a manager again, kept me on hold for 40 minutes and now he said he can't cancel until I receive a letter in the mail to reset my passcode!!!! ADT is NOT ALLOWING ME TO CANCEL MY SERVICE!! Horrible service...please DO NOT do business with ADT!!! 1 starHad the system for almost 3 years. It never worked properly with sensors going off at all times. It is absolutely a scam to get you to send a technician to your house to fix ongoing problems and charge you $60 every time they come out. It is a ****!!!!
