On April 25 BBB received a response to the complaint from the business and resumed dispute resolution efforts. The suspension remains under review and currently continues pending re-closure of the complaint as resolved or answered.
On April 17, 2017, BBB Accreditation was suspended due to a pending and then unanswered and unresolved customer complaint filed March 13, 2017, alleging problems with the company concerning a geothermal heating product.
At that time, due to the then pending unanswered and unresolved complaint and previous failure to respond to consumer complaint and multiple BBB requests for information about the complaint, the company was not meeting the following BBB Accreditation Standards at that time:
6. Be Responsive
Address marketplace disputes quickly, professionally, and in good faith.
An accredited business or organization agrees to:
A. Promptly respond to all complaints forwarded by BBB by:
1. Resolving the complaint directly with the complainant and notifying BBB, or
2. Providing BBB with a response that BBB determines:
• is professional,
• addresses all of the issues raised by the complainant,
• includes appropriate evidence and documents supporting the business’ position, and
• explains why any relief sought by the complainant cannot or should not be granted.
The matter will be reviewed by the BBB’s Board of Directors at its next meetings currently scheduled on April 25 and May 23, 2017.
