State of Ohio v Tasteful Occasion LLC, Kook Daddy's BBQ LLC and Michael Morales Case No 22CV009010
On May 1, 2024 in Franklin County Common Pleas Court, a final judgement was entered finding that defendants Tasteful Occasion, LLC, and Kool Daddy's BBQ, LLC and Michael Morales, committed unfair or deceptive acts and practices in violation of state consumer protection laws by entering into contracts with consumers to provide catering services, and/or providing some of the services contracted for in an inadequate manner, and/or subsequently agreeing either before or after the scheduled event, to refund money to consumers, but then failing to provided the agreed upon refund. The court ordered the defendants to to pay, jointly and severally, consumer damages of 410,470.63, and to pay civil penalties of $20,000.00, and defendants Tasteful Occasion, LLC, and Kool Daddy's BBQ, LLC (but not defendant Michael Morales) are enjoined from engaging in consumer transactions as suppliers in the state of Ohio until all monetary amounts ordered to be paid any other outstanding consumer protection judgments have been satisfied. The state of Ohio originally filed the lawsuit against the defendants on Dec. 27, 2022.
